Use terms as conversation starters
Repair documents use compact descriptions. Ask your estimator how a term applies to the specific line you are reading rather than assuming a generic definition settles the repair method or price.
Read the whole repair scope
One line may depend on another operation elsewhere in the estimate. Ask which associated work is included and which remains subject to inspection. Keep revised documents together so an added line can be understood in context.
Keep a record of answers
Write unfamiliar terms on your copy and ask the shop to explain them. At pickup, compare the final document with your agreed repair plan and ask about differences. The glossary below is educational, not a vehicle repair procedure.
